WHY ARE SO MANY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY STILL EATING SOY, TOFU AND TVP?

I just got the link on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheHealthyDiva (add me as a friend to keep up with my reports and freebies) for the new online black magazine www.thenewblackmagazine.com  and loved much of the information therein. I did notice however that in a piece on "nutrition" they did sharing information about additional sources of protein in my view was erroneous. One of the recommendations was for individuals to consume Texturized Vegetable Protein. In the link below..... one of many I found in my research, denounces the consumption of soy and it's byproducts, tofu, tvp etc. http://www.skrewtips.com/2008/02/08/oh-soy-bad-how-we-are-mislead-about-the-benefits-of-soy/ In the article, it discussed the dangers of consuming this genetically modified product, and what to look out for.  Personally I stopped eating soy and soy products years ago and am dismayed each time I am in the health food store or in the black community and see the "tried and true Ital vegetarians" purchasing soy based products containing TVP. I want to shout do not eat that stuff until you have done some additional research. As a Holistic Nutritionist I found out the truth years ago and want to share with those who would love to know what I have learned. The part that is the most worrysome is the fact that so many mothers feed their babies with soy based milk products and think it is ok. I know fresh fruits, legumes, sprouts, veggies etc are more nutritious and better for you.  You can "like" or "share" this message or send me a message if you want to know more. Take care and stay out of the TVP....it's old school and not as healthy as you think.
