For those of you who scoff at the idea of filtered water in your home read this....
Today I went to the kitchen to make some raw food goodies for my class tonight IN THE KITCHEN WITH THE HEALTHY DIVA and to my surprise the water I got from the tap was brown...then yellow...then still yellow almost two hours after I checked it (I have not turned it off I want to see how long the yellow colour will stay I just let it run) it's still yellow....less but still yellow.
The reason for this post is simple, there has been a lot of construction in the neighbourhoods in the City this year (I live in an upscale neighbourhood) I do not mention that to seem upity...but I mention it to question if my neighbourhood with it's million dollar homes has this state of water what is there to say about other neighbourhoods that have less tax dollars allocated to it's upkeep.
The City did not post notices, nor did it make a news report...nothing to warn the residents that they would be bathing in, drinking, serving to thier children BROWN/YELLOW WATER is this Walkerton all over again?
I only wash my dishes and do my laundry with City tapwater, I was mortified when I saw two hours later the water was still discoloured but "looked" clear when it was running. How many of us let the water run for two hours BEFORE we hop in to take a shower?
I was sickened at the smell of the water (it was faint but I was able to detect it anyway) and upset that people unlike myself who do NOT have water filters on their shower and drinking source are subjected to drinking and bathing in this filth...who knows why the water was that colour....who knows what's in it.
The manager of my condo said.....he drank this water this am and as I winced when he told me this....I listened as he also stated there was nothing wrong with it....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
I think he didn't notice the smell etc...that I did and doesn't have a clue uggh, he went on to say he's been drinking city water for years without a problem...his apparent diabetic (over acidic body state does not register with him as an issue...that's the problem people can't connect the dots) he said he checked other units in the building and they were all the same....running yellow water, he concluded the City must have been digging etc. but had no answer for the water issue.
In conclusion I ask you how many times you have wasted money on purchases that you knew were a waste of money.....stop making those frivillous purchases if you can and either save up to get yourserlves some filters or a good fitration system....you're going to need it in the future, the water supply is getting worse! You actually need proper filtration NOW. Please get yourselves some filtration for your water source because as you can see you may not realize you are bathing in dirty water....a lot of disease comes from dirty water and the City isn't going to tell you what you are bathing in, drinking and cooking with and most of all serving to your children!
I went on to make my raw food goodies for my class with my filtered water...they came out tasty, yummm.
